What a week!

I guess you could say this week started off with a bang! Over the weekend, we took Molly to the urgent care and she had an ear infection. By Tuesday, Brent and Miles were not feeling well so we decided to go to sick bay that morning. I am so thankful for our pediatricians office. They have sick bay in the morning from 8 until 9 and you can drop in without an appointment. I decided to go ahead and let the doctor take a look at Maddie too because she had been really fussy for a few days. Turns out, Maddie had a double ear infection, Miles had an ear infection and a bit of a respiratory infection, and Brent had a very red throat (possibly strep.) So 4 out of 6 members of our family are on antibiotics! Emma and I are trying to stay clear of the germs!!! Everyone seems to be feeling better these days but Maddie is still really fussy and wants to be held. On top of that, she doesn't want to sleep at night. We have had a few tough nights, but I'm hoping they get better really soon!
On Monday, (before Miles got sick!) we went over to Jennifer's for a little while. Miles got to play with Caden, which is one of his favorite things to do! Ashley came and brought Annabelle and Adelyn too! Here is a picture of Maddie and Adelyn...(I am sure not all of their playdates will be this calm :)! )

Because Maddie has not been feeling well these past few days, we have been holding her alot. Right before she falls asleep she sometimes cries really hard. One night she was really upset and Brent was holding her. For some reason he had to go upstairs for something and the second he started walking on the stairs, she stopped crying and fell asleep. Soooo, now if we have trouble getting her to calm down and go to sleep, guess what we do!!! We walk up and down the stairs until she falls asleep! I know...it sounds crazy, but, it works! Here are a few pictures of Brent "walking the stairs!" And, hey, what a great way for me to lose the rest of my baby weight! But that is a whole other story!!!

Here are a few pictures from when my mom was here. I couldn't get the pics posted on the other blog entry!

The end is here

Well, I can't believe that tomorrow is Saturday. My mom has been here for a week and we have had a great time. The kids were out of school on Monday for President's Day and then they were out on Tuesday and Wednesday for a snow day. By Wednesday we were pretty stir crazy so we went to the mall. The main roads were not too bad but I think my mom was still a little nervous. We did some shopping and ate at the mall. On Thursday, Maddie had a cardiology appointment so we took Miles over to Maly's house. Luckily we did not get stuck as we were pulling in their driveway! Thursday night, my mom stayed with the kids so Brent and I could go to dinner. It was so nice to be able to eat dinner together and be able to have a conversation that was not interrupted 20 times! :) We ate at a restaurant here in Marysville called Doc Henderson's. It was wonderful! We, then, went over to Starbuck's and we were able to talk some more without any kids needing anything. Emma, Molly, and Miles were in bed and Maddie was just hanging out with her Gigi when we got back. Today (which is Friday) we went shopping again. Miles needed a new carseat and Babies r us was having a trade in on old carseats to get 25% off a new one. So, Miles got a new carseat and we also went in Carter's and Old Navy. I have had such a fun time with my mom and I'm so sad that she has to leave tomorrow. But, I guess she needs to go home and take care of Dad.

Here are a few pictures from our week...

I'll post the pictures later. For some reason they will not upload!

This weekend and Valentine's Day

This past weekend was lots of fun. My mom flew in town and the kids did not know! Brent took the older 3 sledding and I took Maddie to the airport with me to pick up my mom. When Brent came home with the kids, Miles came in first. My mom was on the couch and I was in the chair across from her. Miles came running toward me and saw my mom out of the corner of his eyes. His eyes bugged and he about fell over his feet. He was so surprised! It was too funny! The girls were so excited, too. Emma could not stop hugging my mom. So fun!
Since Valentine's Day was on Sunday it was pretty much like all of our other Sundays! We went to worship with our family at Living Hope which is always such a blessing. We went out to eat for lunch and by the time we got home Brent had to leave for a meeting and my mom and I got the house ready for small group. I had time for a 15 minute power nap and then it was time for everyone to get here. We met for small group, then had dinner, and went to bed.
Today it has been snowing all day. It started about 8 this morning and it is still snowing tonight. Maybe my mom will get snowed in and she'll have to stay two weeks instead of one! My dad would probably have a fit! :)
We've been enjoying watching the olympics and are looking forward to the next few days of seeing more! These athletes are so amazing to me. I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat cheering for the USA!

Maymay and Snow Buggies

Well, I still can't believe how much snow we have here in Ohio. I think it totals somewhere between 15 and 20 inches. I love to look out the window and see all of the snow but driving in it is not so much fun! I am glad the kids got to go to school today. They were getting a little stir crazy.
We did have a great day yesterday. Brent was off work yesterday and we enjoyed the unexpected day with him. We had lots of playing in the snow. Brent decided he was going to build the kids a snow fort or "igloo!" Here is a picture of the beginning of his work. He is still perfecting his masterpiece and I'll post a picture when he is finished!

The kids wanted to go sledding so we put all of our snow clothes on and headed over to the High School. There is a great big hill over there and the kids had a blast. Maddie got to stay with Mrs. Carol so she didn't have to get out in the cold, although she does have a snow suit! Miles only went down a few times. The hill was a little bit big for him! He did keep calling the sled a snow buggy and I loved everytime he said it! After his few times down the hill, I took him to the car to wait until the girls and Brent were finished sledding. He ended up playing with my phone and wanting to take pictures. Here is a picture of Maddie in her snow suit and a few of the pictures of Miles and me in the car.

I guess I will wrap up this post. One final thing to mention is Maddie's new nickname. Yesterday, I kept hearing Miles talk to Maddie and I wasn't really sure what he was saying. So, I decided to get closer and listen to what he was saying. When I listened closer I realized he was saying Maymay. When I asked him why he was calling her that, he told me that was her nickname. Now, all the kids are calling her Maymay. So sweet.

Here are a few pictures of the kids before bed...

Snow Day!

It is still snowing! Well, off and on all day today that is. This past weekend we got somewhere between 13-15 inches. Today we got several more and is supposed to snow all night and all day tomorrow. At least that was the last forcast I saw!

The girls were dismissed early from school yesterday and school was closed today. They are out of school again tomorrow! I have tried to keep them busy all day to keep the fighting to a minimum. But there is only so much one mom can do! We have played games, ate, sang karaoke, played in the basement, ate some more, played on the computer, played in the snow, and I'm sure we ate again! Brent came home for lunch so that was a nice break in the middle of the day and he picked up Papa Murphy's pizza on the way home. Maddie has been kinda fussy today, so it was a nice break to not have to cook dinner.

Oh, the excitement for today was when Molly pulled out her tooth! She woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me that her tooth was really bothering her. Of course, I was half asleep so my solution was for her to just get in the bed next to me and go back to sleep. When we got up this morning, it was barely hanging on. Pulling teeth completely grosses me out so I was very thankful when she got the paper towel and pulled it herself! What a big girl she is! I wonder how much money she will get for this one! As I'm typing this, Molly is in the bed next to me because she is scared of flying fairies!

Emma is in her room with her friend Ava. Ava is our first spend the night guest here in Ohio. I can hear them talking and giggling through the wall. I'm hoping they don't wake up Miles or (especially) Maddie!

Tonight at dinner Miles gave Brent a (verbal) list of all the sporting events he wants Brent to take him to. Here are the ones I can remember...
basketball game
baseball game
hockey game
putter golf game
soccer game
bowler game
tennis racket game
Of course, Brent says to Miles that he doesn't think they will be going to a bowler game or a tennis racket game! And Miles just says OK!

Being a mom of 4 kids is so crazy! But I love it! I can't imagine my life without Brent and the kids. God has truly blessed me beyond what I could have ever imagined.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow when my best friend has baby #3! I can't wait to see if it's a boy or a girl. I'm just sad I'm not there with her! Love you Tash!

Snow!Snow!Snow!

Well, we have gotten lots of snow in the past few days. I think that it measures around 18 inches. We are loving it! We decided to take the kids sledding yesterday. It took a little while to get them all dressed but we made it! We took Maddie down to Mrs. Carol's house and walked to the end of the street. There was not much of a hill because of the snow drift but the kids had fun anyway. Miles didn't last very long so I brought him back to the house. We did venture out to Walmart and the roads were not that bad. They had plowed the streets so there was just ice in spots. Walmart was a nightmare! I picked up the things on my list in about 10 minutes and then stood in line for 40 minutes. Yep, that's right 40!!! They only had 2 lines open for regular checkout and 4 lines of 15 items or less. That didn't make any sense to me; but they didn't ask me either!

I took Maddie this past Thursday to have her 3 month pictures made. She did such a great job. She was happen most of the time. I was really happy with the way her pictures turned out. I can't wait to pick them up!

I've decided I need to write down some of the funny things that my kids say. Even Emma who is 8 will say something funny and not even realize it. The other day Miles was pulling on her arm and she yelled stop pulling my arm! It's going to come out of the sock! Haha! I tried not to laugh out loud because I new she would get mad!

Funny words that Miles says...
chep-up (ketchup)
tooler paper (toilet paper)
mer-rote control (remote control)
sidewards (side ways) usually used when I put him on the potty and he is not facing the front. He yells at me...Mommy, you put me sidewards!

Molly's funny words...
hanitizer (hand sanitizer)
stackity (staticky)

I know there are more funny things so I will have to post them as I remember! I'm looking forward to Bible study tonight even more since we didn't have church this morning because of the snow. I'm going to post one more picture. I got a new washer and dryer and they delivered it this week. I'm so excited. Who knew I could be this excited about doing laundry!!

Enjoy the super bowl!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well, I have been wanting to update my blog but life is very busy with 4 kids! I barely have time to check my email much less sit down and write about everything that is going on. But, I'm trying.

Brent was out of town last week. He left on Monday morning and got home late Friday night. It was a long week but the kids were very well behaved; so it made my life a little easier.

Maddie celebrated her 3 month birthday last week. I can't believe she is getting so big. She went to the doctor and weighed in at 11 pounds and 23 inches long. Before we left she got 4 shots. Her nurse was wonderful because she brought in another nurse and they gave her 2 shots in each leg at the same time. It made it a little easier on Maddie and she only cried for a few minutes. She didn't seem to have any soreness that night. I was very relieved especially since Brent was out of town.

Miles was very busy last week. Well, he is very busy every week. He thinks his job is to find something in each room that he can make a big mess with. I spend most of my day cleaning up what he has thrown all over the place. My goodness, he can make a mess! A few days ago, I had a list of some things I need to do around the house and all Miles wanted to do was take a bath! So, I put him in the bath and got busy on my list. Here is a picture of my sweet boy in the bath...

Emma and Molly were at school and I know you are wondering what Maddie was doing! Well, here she is...

I'm so excited that this afternoon I will be receiving a brand new washer and dryer. You know that you have entered into a new phase of life when you get excited about a washer and dryer! But, I know these machines will make my life so much easier and they are going to be more efficient than the ones I have right now!

Well, more to come later...Maddie is telling me it is time for her to eat!
