Snow Day!

It is still snowing! Well, off and on all day today that is. This past weekend we got somewhere between 13-15 inches. Today we got several more and is supposed to snow all night and all day tomorrow. At least that was the last forcast I saw!

The girls were dismissed early from school yesterday and school was closed today. They are out of school again tomorrow! I have tried to keep them busy all day to keep the fighting to a minimum. But there is only so much one mom can do! We have played games, ate, sang karaoke, played in the basement, ate some more, played on the computer, played in the snow, and I'm sure we ate again! Brent came home for lunch so that was a nice break in the middle of the day and he picked up Papa Murphy's pizza on the way home. Maddie has been kinda fussy today, so it was a nice break to not have to cook dinner.

Oh, the excitement for today was when Molly pulled out her tooth! She woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me that her tooth was really bothering her. Of course, I was half asleep so my solution was for her to just get in the bed next to me and go back to sleep. When we got up this morning, it was barely hanging on. Pulling teeth completely grosses me out so I was very thankful when she got the paper towel and pulled it herself! What a big girl she is! I wonder how much money she will get for this one! As I'm typing this, Molly is in the bed next to me because she is scared of flying fairies!

Emma is in her room with her friend Ava. Ava is our first spend the night guest here in Ohio. I can hear them talking and giggling through the wall. I'm hoping they don't wake up Miles or (especially) Maddie!

Tonight at dinner Miles gave Brent a (verbal) list of all the sporting events he wants Brent to take him to. Here are the ones I can remember...

tennis racket game
Of course, Brent says to Miles that he doesn't think they will be going to a bowler game or a tennis racket game! And Miles just says OK!

Being a mom of 4 kids is so crazy! But I love it! I can't imagine my life without Brent and the kids. God has truly blessed me beyond what I could have ever imagined.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow when my best friend has baby #3! I can't wait to see if it's a boy or a girl. I'm just sad I'm not there with her! Love you Tash!

Snow!Snow!Snow!

Well, we have gotten lots of snow in the past few days. I think that it measures around 18 inches. We are loving it! We decided to take the kids sledding yesterday. It took a little while to get them all dressed but we made it! We took Maddie down to Mrs. Carol's house and walked to the end of the street. There was not much of a hill because of the snow drift but the kids had fun anyway. Miles didn't last very long so I brought him back to the house. We did venture out to Walmart and the roads were not that bad. They had plowed the streets so there was just ice in spots. Walmart was a nightmare! I picked up the things on my list in about 10 minutes and then stood in line for 40 minutes. Yep, that's right 40!!! They only had 2 lines open for regular checkout and 4 lines of 15 items or less. That didn't make any sense to me; but they didn't ask me either!







I took Maddie this past Thursday to have her 3 month pictures made. She did such a great job. She was happen most of the time. I was really happy with the way her pictures turned out. I can't wait to pick them up!

I've decided I need to write down some of the funny things that my kids say. Even Emma who is 8 will say something funny and not even realize it. The other day Miles was pulling on her arm and she yelled stop pulling my arm! It's going to come out of the sock! Haha! I tried not to laugh out loud because I new she would get mad!

I know there are more funny things so I will have to post them as I remember! I'm looking forward to Bible study tonight even more since we didn't have church this morning because of the snow. I'm going to post one more picture. I got a new washer and dryer and they delivered it this week. I'm so excited. Who knew I could be this excited about doing laundry!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well, I have been wanting to update my blog but life is very busy with 4 kids! I barely have time to check my email much less sit down and write about everything that is going on. But, I'm trying.

Brent was out of town last week. He left on Monday morning and got home late Friday night. It was a long week but the kids were very well behaved; so it made my life a little easier.

Maddie celebrated her 3 month birthday last week. I can't believe she is getting so big. She went to the doctor and weighed in at 11 pounds and 23 inches long. Before we left she got 4 shots. Her nurse was wonderful because she brought in another nurse and they gave her 2 shots in each leg at the same time. It made it a little easier on Maddie and she only cried for a few minutes. She didn't seem to have any soreness that night. I was very relieved especially since Brent was out of town.

Miles was very busy last week. Well, he is very busy every week. He thinks his job is to find something in each room that he can make a big mess with. I spend most of my day cleaning up what he has thrown all over the place. My goodness, he can make a mess! A few days ago, I had a list of some things I need to do around the house and all Miles wanted to do was take a bath! So, I put him in the bath and got busy on my list. Emma and Molly were at school and I know you are wondering what Maddie was doing! Well, here she is...



I'm so excited that this afternoon I will be receiving a brand new washer and dryer. You know that you have entered into a new phase of life when you get excited about a washer and dryer! But, I know these machines will make my life so much easier and they are going to be more efficient than the ones I have right now!

Well, more to come later...Maddie is telling me it is time for her to eat!

Quotes

So this is Brent here and just wanted to post a few quotes that I thought were interesting. Here goes:

These are quotes from a book I have been reading by Paul Borthwick called How to Be a World-Class Christian. I am not completely convinced about everything that he says in the book although I like these quotes. The book itself when reading through all of it comes across as a little bit off-target on some of the reasons to go on missions and such. It talks a lot about doing missions because of what it can do for us. Not that those things don't happen, but, I do not believe those are reasons for going on missions in and of themselves.

I prefer to agree with what Paul Washer says about missions: Missions is about truth, God's truth and if you can't clearly share His truth, you should not go on missions.(paraphrased from one of his sermons). I believe that this is what the Bible teaches.

It's about time!

Well, it has been quite some time since I have updated my blog! So much has happened since September that I don't even know where to begin. I think I will start with recent happenings and slowly go back to Maddie's arrival!
Life is busy! So, we are trying to trim back our activities and spend more time as a family. Emma has stopped going to gymnastics, which was her choice. I think I'm having a harder time than she is. I love to watch her because it seems so natural for her! But, I have always told her that when she was ready to quit that she could. She actually told Brent last week that she felt like God was telling her that gymnastics was more important to her than He is! Wow! I couldn't believe how mature that sounded from an 8 year old! I was really proud of her.
Molly is really enjoying school and is really wanting to play soccer. They are having spring soccer sign-ups right now. It is hard to think about playing soccer outside when it is 20 degrees and snowy! But, we are looking ahead to warmer weather and going to sign her up.
Miles is busy being 3. He loves to bug his sisters...constantly! He and Molly just feed off each other. Today I told Miles that all he was doing was being a pest to his sisters and I asked him why. His reply to me was..."I like to be a pest to 'dem cause it is fun and it makes them scream!" Oh my goodness!!! He is a little turkey! But, I love him so much. He tells me at least once a day that he is going to marry me. When I tell him I'm already married to Brent he just says, Nope, I'm going to marry you!
Maddie is growing like a weed. This past week she weighed in over 11 pounds at the doctor's office. She is starting to talk and laugh out loud. She sometimes sleeps through the night and when she wakes up in the morning, she just smiles and talks. She looks so much like the other 3. It just amazes me.
Living Hope had their first Men's conference this weekend and Brent got to go. He left Friday afternoon and came back this afternoon around 5. Boy, was I glad to seem him! I'm so thankful for my husband. He is such a big help to me. When he came home, everyone took off to the door to meet him. We look forward to him walking through the door every afternoon!
Well, that's all for now! I'm off to bed because we have church tomorrow morning. I'm so looking forward to going because I have not been for the past few weeks (due to sick kiddos). I'm going to try not to stay away from blogging for too long!
Night-night

This past week has been very busy! We are still trying to get ready to add to our family. It seems we have had a lot to do especially since we got rid of a lot of our baby stuff because we didn't think we were going to have any more! But God knows best and we are so excited to meet this precious baby soon!

The kids had a good week at school, especially Emma.  She was chosen to sing a solo in her school music program and she was also chosen as the student of the week for the "Good Attitude" award. Maybe I should give those out at home! :)

This week has also been a week full of emotions! A very dear friend found out she is expecting a baby! We have celebrated birthdays with friends. We lost a sweet member of our family. Finally, we found out that a very dear friend has a "very angry cancer" (as the doctor put it.) We are in shock over this news and our hearts are very heavy. Please pray for Mac. He and his wife are very special to our family and we ask that you join us in praying for them! We are so thankful that Mac knows Jesus as his Lord and we know God is control. Thank you in advance to those of you who will lift Mac up to our Great Physician!

Welcome to the Armstrong blog! Brent is sitting next to me, staring as I write!!! We are not really sure what we are going to put on our blog but I'm typing because Brent told me too! We chose green as our "color" because that is Miles' favorite color and he tells us that everyday.

Today I went to the doctor for my 34 week checkup. Not much longer until we add one more to our family. Baby Maddie will be here at the end of October. The girls are loving school and Emma (7 yrs)  won the "good attitude" award  last week.  Molly (6 yrs) has adjusted very well which is a huge answer to prayer. Miles (2 yrs.)  continues to love playing any kind of activity that includes a ball. He has decided he needs a baseball glove for his birthday and golf clubs for Christmas. And then there is Maggie, our dog. Well, what can you say about a dog that drives you crazy!!!!
